My
Story
Donovan is an inspiring blind cat with epilepsy and a yet unsolved health issue. Despite everything he's so happy and life embracing. His contagious positivity helped his mommy to cure depression and now he's on mission to make everyone happy and to be an ambassador for blind and special needs cats.
Donovan, a cream-point Birman is a rescue from Spain. I adopted him as cat with one eye but it turned out that he's completely blind. He's been found in a rough area in Spain by sweet people that hadn't much to get by themself. They took him to the vet and got support from the animal welfare. The vets were able to save poor Donovan's life but had to remove one eye. He had to wait almost a year until he found his loving forever home in Germany with me.
He felt
home immediately. Out of his transport box he just didn't stop purring and he snuggled and played non stop. He also came along with my other rescue cat Giuliano right away and even with the dogs. He navigated so well in the new area and was so happy and playful that it took me a few days to realize that he might be blind. The vet confirmed my guess. But this didn't change the fact that Donovan's a perfect cat ful of love. His foster family didn't even notice it because he's just that awesome. If you see him in person, you wouldn't believe it either.
He barely bumps into anything but frequently runs into the sleeping dogs and always wonders how they came there (so cute) or accidentaly jumps onto them. But he plays, climbs up the cat tree and plays with his cat friend Giuliano. He uses his hearing, smelling sense and whiskers to compensate his loss of sight. And he does this perfectly. Donovan is such an inspiring cat. He's disabled but wants nothing then give and get love and enjoys every single moment in his life and sometimes it seems that his own blind world is even more interesting and happy then ours. His special power is to motivate and inspire to have a happier life.
